Celebrate the best time of the year by shopping local in Shelton

The holidays are upon us and there’s something so true when it’s said that it is the most wonderful time of the year.

The holidays are upon us and there’s something so true when it’s said that it is the most wonderful time of the year.

We hang the lights, trim the trees, deck the halls, and the last thing we want to do is wait in long lines at a crowded chain store or brave the crowds at the mall. There is a much easier way to find what you need for everyone on your list: Shop local.

(free and open to the public)

A diverse, vibrant community surrounds us, and at the heart of it is our small business owners. They are pouring their passion and dreams into what they do every day, working hard and pushing to help maintain a feeling that only a unified community can create.

Boost  local entrepreneurs, business owners

When we shop local, we are supporting and building opportunities for local entrepreneurs and business owners, strengthening our local economy by creating a more self-reliant and durable community, and empowering citizens to guide the development of our immediate surroundings.

By shopping local not only this season and every season, you will find unique gifts made with love and dedication.

Small, independent businesses and their passionate store owners are providing products and services for the community that they are directly a part of — and it reflects back on the city in which they operate.

Small Business Crawl event guide

Celebrate Shelton consists of three major events to highlight small businesses and the community that surrounds them, including a Small Business Crawl event guide, which you can find at more than 150 locations in Shelton.

The goal of the Small Business Crawl book is to raise awareness of local small businesses and to stress the importance of shopping local.

Small businesses in our community encourage everyone to pick up their book and “crawl” to each participating business, take advantage of special offers for the month, and take the opportunity to build a long-lasting customer relationship with a local independent business.
