Connecticut Sports Talk, April 6
Dave Stewart -- FCIAC "guru" and sports editor of the New Canaan Advertiser -- joins HAN Network sports director Rob Adams for this edition of Nutmeg Sports. Rob and Dave catch up on girls lacrosse, as New Canaan topped John Jay High School from Cross River, NY. We have the highlights of that game, as called by Rob on the HAN Network.
Rob and Dave discuss the latest in the saga over the battle for lights in Darien. Susan Shultz, editor of the Darien Times, has quotes from First Selectman Jayme Stevenson and Planning and Zoning Commissioner John Sini. The simple bottom line, according to Rob, is that a "rogue selectman," Rob Richards, is trying to broker a deal with the neighbors surrounding Darien High School. Rob, in essence, calls foul on this.
Dave also updates us on the status of New Canaans' own Curt Casali of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Interviews with the New Canaan boys' lacrosse team, plus girls tennis from Darien and Fairfield Ludlowe add to the program. Rob will have the call later in the day of boys lacrosse, as New Canaan hosts Fairfield Prep. The Rams are the number one team in the state, according to laxpower.com. while the Jesuits sit at number five.
