
Route 8 northbound in Shelton was closed Thursday morning because of a multi-vehicle crash, the state’s transportation agency says.

The crash happened in the area of exits 12 and 13 some time before 7:30 a.m., the state Department of Transportation said. The extent of injuries wasn’t immediately clear.
At 9:30 a.m., traffic was backed up more than 5 miles, to Exit 5, the DOT said.
The road was reopened by 10:15 a.m.
