EVERY TRAVELER’S FEAR: Police say man tried to steal luggage at airport

A Connecticut man was arrested Jan. 28 by State Police for allegedly trying to steal luggage at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks.

John Smith, 25, of 133 Nelson St., Unit 1, East Hartford, was charged with credit card theft by transfer, sixth-degree larceny, attempt to commit a crime, and interfering with an officer (non-assaultive). Bond was $5,000.

According to police, Smith was caught trying to steal baggage from the United Airlines baggage belt.

The luggage belonged to two people — one from East Hartford, and the other from Hamden.
