Expect more rain Tuesday in Shelton, especially at night
Heavy rain is expected to return to Shelton today, particularly at night.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning the storms could produce small hail as well as strong winds and major downpours.
The wet weather should begin after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, with showers and thunderstorms. Up to 2 inches of new rain could fall, before clearing up late Wednesday morning.
Flash Flood Watch
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday at 9 a.m. for southern Connecticut. This means flooding could occur in urbanized areas, low-lying areas, roadways, rivers and streams, and places with poor drainage.
Major storms passed through Connecticut on late Monday, but most of the heaviest rain fell along the coast or farther south, sparing Shelton from the worst of it.
Will eventually clear up
Wednesday afternoon and evening are expected to be partly cloudy, as the bad weather moves east.
Thursday should be mostly sunny, with highs in the low 80s, the NWS said.
