Fire burns in South Windsor home Tuesday night

SOUTH WINDSOR - Firefighters responded to a blaze on Ann Road Tuesday night, putting out the fire after about 10 minutes, according to Deputy Fire Chief Scott Fine.

The South Windsor Fire Department was called to the structure fire around 8:18 p.m., Fine said.

Firefighters noticed a moderate amount of fire coming out of the front bedroom and confined the blaze to the bedroom, parts of the attic and some of the surrounding hallway, according to Fine.

The family that lived at the residence was home during the incident and escaped unharmed, Fine said.

Firefighters knocked out the flames after about 10 minutes on the scene. Two fire engines remained at the residence as of 9:38 p.m. to clean up, according to Fine.

Fine said the cause of the fire is still being investigated by the South Windsor Fire Marshal’s Office.
