The Planning and Zoning Commission has voted to extend the hours when the White Hills Flying Club can use electric-powered model planes at its Birdseye Road field, but it kept the hours the same for gas-powered planes.

P&Z members were concerned the gas-powered planes make too much noise and would disturb neighbors trying to spend leisure time outdoors in the warm weather.

The planes are not allowed to be flown after dark due to safety concerns.
