A clipper system is bringing a flurry to Shelton, with about a quarter inch of snow landing on the ground in the past hour or so.
As of 7:45 p.m. Sunday, a minimal snow cover is covering most surfaces. Roads are slippery, with drivers traveling at reduced speeds.
The snow has been coming down at a good rate, but initially was melting in most places upon contact. Vehicles parked outdoors are being covered with light snow.
Accident on the highway
On Route 8 in Shelton, emergency crews are responding to an accident southbound between Exit 13 (Constitution Boulevard) and Exit 12 (Old Stratford Road).
State Police and fire vehicles are at the scene. It appears a southbound vehicle may have gone into a ditch in the grassy median divider, but that could not be absolutely confirmed by visible inspection.
