Lines forming at Shelton gas stations and some grocery items in short supply
Lines are forming at some Shelton gas stations as drivers try to fill up their tanks before the coming blizzard arrives.
As of about 12:30 p.m. on Monday, there is about a 10- to 15-vehicle wait to reach the gas pumps at the Stop & Shop gas station on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton.
And inside the supermarket, it’s not just milk and bread that the unusually large number of shoppers are trying to find.
Add things such as produce, meat and chicken to the grocery items now in short supply.
Bananas and lettuce
Hoping to eat a few bananas to pass the time in the house during the snowstorm? Forget about it — the banana shelves are bare.
There is little lettuce as well, and limited items are still available in the fresh meat and poultry shelves.
And many other shelves in Stop & Shop aren’t far behind, although there does still appear to be milk, bread and orange juice (but they are going fast, and you can’t be picky).
