Naugatuck man killed in Shelton motorcycle crash, police say

SHELTON — State police said a Naugatuck man died after crashing a motorcycle on Route 8 in Shelton early Sunday.

The crash was reported around 12:35 a.m. in the area of Exit 12 southbound, according to an accident summary from state police.

Julian Torres III, 33, was riding a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 in the left lane and veered toward the median.

Police said Torres was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a metal guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation. Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has any other information to contact Trooper Patrick Miko at 203-393-4200 or Patrick.Miko@ct.gov.

“Furthermore, if you were driving through the area of the collision at the time of the crash and may have footage recorded on a vehicle equipped dashboard camera, you are also asked to contact Trooper Miko,” state police said.
