PHOTO: Sunday night snowy spin-out puts vehicle on side of Route 8 in Shelton

A driver appears to be using her cell phone to seek assistance, above, on Route 8 southbound at about 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16. (Photos by Brad Durrell)

The vehicle went off the highway into a snow embankment, and was facing the wrong direction just off the road surface in the grassy median divider.

This accident appears to have occurred in the same vicinity where another more serious accident had just been cleared up.

A snow flurry is making roads extremely slick tonight, especially in this section of Route 8 — southbound between Exit 13 (Constitution Boulevard) and Exit 12 (Old Stratford Road).

Southbound motorists head down a long hill in this part of Route 8, after going under the Long Hill Cross Road overpass.
