MANCHESTER — Investigators are looking to identify a person who they say started a fire in a local home this week while three individuals — including a toddler and a teenager — were inside, according to police.

Lt. Ryan Shea said the arson investigation began in the early morning hours of Wednesday after an unidentified person broke into the home and poured gasoline and lighter fluid throughout the first floor. Shea said the individual then lit a fire, threatening the lives of the three occupants in the home.

The alleged arsonist used a yellow, five-quart Pennzoil container to flood the home with the accelerate, Shea said, adding that investigators believe the individual might have filled the container at a nearby gas station.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Claire Hearn at 860-645-5549.
