SHELTON — A Derby woman has been charged in connection with the drug overdose death of a Shelton resident in July 2018, police said.

Shelton police said they arrested Ebony Thomas, 40, this week and charged with sale of narcotics.

Police Detective Richard Bango said officers responded on July 4, 2018, to a downtown residence for the death of a 47-year-old male. The evidence collected and autopsy results proved the man died of a drug overdose, Bango said.

“Shelton detectives along with members of the DEA New Haven office investigated the incident and developed (Thomas) as the suspect who sold the decedent narcotics,” Bango said, adding that the department then obtained a warrant for her arrest.

Thomas was held on a $20,000 bond and brought to Milford Superior Court for arraignment.
