SHELTON — A Milford man is facing a weapons charge after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife at a local hotel, police said.

Peter Anthony Zelinsky was arrested for second-degree threatening, carrying a dangerous weapon, risk of injury to a child and second-degree breach of peace in connection with the incident that police said occurred Nov. 3 around 3 p.m. at Extended Stay America, 945 Bridgeport Ave.

Police said officers responded to the hotel on a report of a man - later identified as Zelinsky - threatening people with a knife. While at the scene, police said officers located Zelinsky at the rear of the building. Police said Zelinsky was patted down by officers and a knife was found in his back pocket.

The victim, who was with her 4-month-old granddaughter at the time of the incident, said Zelinsky asked her for crack, then began threatening to stab her, according to police.

Zelinsky was held on a $50,000 bond and was due in court Nov. 4.

While in custody, he was also arrested on four separate second-degree failure to appear charges, police said. He was to appear in court on Nov. 4 to answer those charges as well, according to police.
