Public hearing on mayoral pay raise postponed due to blizzard

The Board of Aldermen public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27 on a proposed raise for the position of mayor has been canceled due to the impending blizzard.

The hearing will be rescheduled. It was to take place at 7 p.m. in Shelton City Hall.

The hearing is a chance for people to voice their opinion on a consultant’s recommendation to raise the salary for the mayor of Shelton to $135,700 a year. The mayoral salary is altered through the ordinance process, which requires a public hearing be held.
