Rails-to-trails talk on old railway line set for Shelton
Local rail-trail historian and author Sue A. DelBianco will give a presentation with photos on “Rails to Back Trails” on Tuesday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at the Crosby Commons assisted living community, 580 Long Hill Ave.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
The abandoned rail corridor from Trumbull to Newtown has become one of Connecticut’s best recreational trails, known as the rail trail.
DelBianco will discuss when the trains stopped running and the rail line was abandoned.
She will also have copies of her video, “Rails to Trails: A Journey Back in Time,” which tells the story of the train line from Bridgeport through the Trumbull Valley.
Light refreshments will be available. Crosby Commons is on the Wesley Village campus. For information call 203-225-5000.
