SHELTON WEATHER UPDATE: How much snow is coming on Thursday?

A storm on Thursday could bring 2 to 3 inches of snow in Shelton, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The snow could begin very early in the morning, but snow is more likely from the late morning to almost midnight on Thursday, the NWS said.

From one to two inches could accumulate during the day in Shelton, and up to another inch in the evening. This means the Thursday afternoon commute is more likely to be messy than the Thursday morning commute.

The daytime high will be about 28 degrees, the NWS said, so any precipitation should be all snow.

The good news: Wednesday will be mostly sunny, although the high will only be 24 degrees.

Arctic blast to arrive

The weather will turn noticeably colder after the storm, with daytime highs in Shelton of 16 degrees on Friday, 18 degrees on Saturday, 13 degrees on Sunday, and 18 degrees on Monday (Presidents Day), according to the NWS.

Overnight lows will be close to, or below, zero on Friday, and Saturday and Sunday nights in Shelton.

Snow also is possible Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday in Shelton, with the mostly chance being on late Saturday, the NWS said.
