SHELTON WEATHER: Well below zero, but no major storms in forecast

The temperature could drop to 5-below-zero tonight in Shelton, making it perhaps the coldest night of the year when considering air temperature alone.

Temperatures will warm up during the day on Wednesday, but otherwise remain colder than average for this time of the year, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The good news: The possibility for snow Tuesday night and Wednesday in Shelton has disappeared from the forecast, but that possibility still exists late Thursday and Friday.

Weekend looks a bit warmer

Here are the NWS predicted highs and lows in Shelton for the coming days:

Tuesday:  A daytime high of 16 degrees, and an overnight low of 13.

Wednesday:  A high of 30 during the day, and a low of 8 at night.

Thursday:  A high of 20 and a low of 5, with a chance of snow at night.

Friday:  A daytime high of 20 with a chance of light snow, and a nighttime low of 7.

Saturday:  A high of 26, and a low of 17.

Sunday:  A high of 36 and a low of 26, with a change for mixed precipitation at night.
