The Shelton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the following incidents between Jan. 7 and Jan. 13, as submitted by the fire marshal’s office:
Monday, Jan. 7
At 7:36 a.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to 16 Oak Ave. for a carbon monoxide alarm activation. An engine responded.
At 10:35 a.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Mark Apartments, 7 Acadia Lane, for an odor of natural gas in one of the buildings. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
Tuesday, Jan. 8
At 8:20 a.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to 6 Armstrong Road for an odor of propane in the building. An engine and a tower truck responded.
At 1:02 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Ripton Housing Complex, 423 Howe Ave., for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. A tower truck and a ladder truck responded.
At 1:11 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to Sikorsky Aircraft Plant #3, 33 Platt Road, for a fire in the boiler room. The fire was out upon arrival of firefighters. A ladder truck and a tower truck responded.
At 1:26 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Shelton Sports Center, 784 River Road, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. The alarm was accidentally transmitted during a test of the system. A ladder truck and a tower truck responded.
Wednesday, Jan. 9
At 12:50 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1, Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Huntington Fire Co. #3 responded to the Market Place Plaza, 389 Bridgeport Ave., for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. A tower truck and a ladder truck responded.
At 12:58 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to route 8 northbound between exits 13 and 14 for a small brush fire. The tower truck responded.
At 1:51 p.m., the White Hills Co. #5 responded to Leavenworth Road near Birdseye Road for a brush fire. An engine responded.
Thursday, Jan. 10
At 1:21 a.m., the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to the Elizabeth Shelton School, 138 Willoughby Road, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine responded.
At 8:01 a.m., the White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Dr. Farens Office, 224 Leavenworth Road, for an odor of natural gas in the building. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
Friday, Jan. 11
At 5:04 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to Coram Avenue at Hill Street for a motor vehicle accident. Two engines responded.
Saturday, Jan. 12
At 6:40 a.m., the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Anco Engineering, 217 Long Hill Cross Road, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine responded.
At 6:12 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to 149 Hillside Ave. for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine responded.
