Shelton High School is mourning the death of a student Friday, Sept. 30.

"With deep sorrow I must communicate to the community that a well-liked student at SHS, Jonathan Sabo, passed away last night," Supt. Chris Clouett posted on the Shelton Public Schools website. "His untimely death is a family tragedy first and foremost, and it is a shock to his friends and the entire school community — as well as all of Shelton.
"We need to support the Sabo family and all of our students at this most difficult time," Clouett added.
The school district website also shared a link with tips to helping children cope with a crisis.
All athletic contests scheduled for Friday have been postponed, according to a tweet from Shelton High School Headmaster Dr. Beth A. Smith.
Sabo's death remains under investigation.
