SHELTON — The Shelton Libraries Junior Friends group will be hosting a November food drive for Spooner House beginning next week.

Spooner House is seeking stuffing mix, gravy, potatoes (canned and instant), canned yams, pie crusts/canned filling, asparagus, green beans, corn, carrots, collard greens, Bisquick Mix, rice/rice mixes, grits, oatmeal, boxed cereal, pasta sauce. The facility is also seeking items such as napkins/paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags (13-gallon size), ziplock sandwich/gallon size bags, and any disinfectant cleaners such as wipes and spray cleaners.

The Junior Friends will be collecting donations at Plumb Memorial Library Tuesdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Junior Friends will be collecting at Huntington Branch Library Thursdays, Nov. 4 and 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If patrons want to donate outside the days/times the Junior Friends are available to collect, please bring donations to either Joseph in the Teen Department at Plumb or Jessica in the Youth Services Department at Huntington.
