Shelton Mayor's Golf Classic at Brownson will raise funds for local charities

The Mayor’s Golf Classic will take place Monday, Sept. 15 at Brownson Country Club in Shelton.

The 18-hole tournament will begin with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start, followed by a social hour, dinner and awards program. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m.

To benefit five organizations

Mayor Mark Lauretti’s annual event raises money for local charities and organizations. This year’s beneficiaries will be the Shelton Youth Service Bureau, Boy Scouts of America, Spooner House, St. Joseph’s School (Shelton) and St. Lawrence School.

The cost is $200 per player, or $85 to attend the post-golf events only.

Sponsorships are available and promotional item donations are welcome.

There will be a four-person scramble format, with competitions for the longest drive and closest to the pin. The hole-in-one contest is sponsored by Curtiss-Ryan Honda of Shelton.
