Shelton aldermen to remember late colleague

The Shelton Board of Aldermen will have a moment of silence at Thursday night’s meeting to remember former aldermanic President Norman K. Santa, who died in October.

Santa, 82, lived in Shelton for 59 years. In addition to being on the Board of Aldermen, he served on the Inlands Wetlands Commission, Charter Revision Committee and Shelton Economic Development Commission.

The 1950 Stratford High School graduate served in the Marines during the Korean War; spent his career working for his family’s business, Santa Fuel; and was active with many local charities.

He is survived by his wife Janet Mary Nicolson Santa, four children, eight children and other family members, including brother S. George Santa of Shelton.

Santa’s family described him as “a no-nonsense guy dedicated to his family, his community and his country.”
