SHELTON — One local club is ready to help residents get their gardens ready with spring around the corner.

The Olde Ripton Garden Club will be holding a program titled “Preparing Your Garden for Spring” at its monthly meeting on April 4 at 10 a.m. at the Shelton Community Center, 41 Church St.

Lee Ganim, Vice Chairman of Master Nursery Garden Centers of America, will be the guest speaker. Ganim, along with his children, run the Ganim Garden Center and Florists, a third generation garden center in Fairfield. In addition, Ganim can be heard on WICC AM radio on Sunday mornings as “That Garden Guy,” offering information about current gardening trends.

Along with garden club members, any interested people are encouraged to attend. There will be a $5 visitor fee for non garden club members. A light lunch will be served.
