SHELTON - Firefighters doused a porch fire Saturday at a Brookfield Drive home.

No one was injured, according to Deputy Fire Chief Paul Wilson, and the home remains habitable.

Fire crews from companies 1, 3 and 5 responded to a report of a porch fire about 8 a.m. Upon arrival of the first fire unit, an active fire was visible on the porch in the rear of the single-family home, Wilson said.

“The crew from Engine 32 stretched an attack hose and quickly doused the fire,” Wilson said. “Members from Ladder 51 assisted with checking for hot spots and fire extension.”

Wilson said the residents were home at the time of the fire but safely evacuated to a neighbor’s house prior to the arrival of the fire department. The fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
