Shelton fire log: Crews respond to numerous accidents, alarms

The Shelton Fire Department responded to the following calls this past week.

Tuesday, May 31

At 10:54 a.m., the White Hills Co. No. 5 and the Huntington Co. No. 1 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at a Lenore Drive address. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm.

At 1:06 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with a rescue truck to a fire alarm activation at the SInsabaugh Heights Housing Complex, 187 Meadow St. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm.

At 1:24 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with a rescue truck to assist EMS with a patient.

At 5:29 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to a Brownson Drive address for an outside odor investigation.

At 9:54 p.m., the White Hills Co. No. 5 and the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at an East Village Road address. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm.

Wednesday, June 1

At 1:12 a.m., the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to a fire alarm activated at Wesley Heights, 580 Long Hill Ave. There was no fire.

At 10:33 a.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at the Booth Hill School, 544 Booth Hill Road. There was no fire. The alarm was transmitted accidentally during a fire drill.

At 8:07 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to power lines possibly on fire on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Thursday, June 2

At 10:56 a.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to an Elizabeth Street address for an electrical hazard outside.

At 4:31 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to Pennsylvania Avenue for a tree on power lines.

At 5:01 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine, a rescue truck and a ladder truck to Route 8 southbound near Exit 12 for a motor vehicle accident.

Friday, June 3

At 12:59 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded within engine to assist EMS at a Woodland Park address.

At 2:10 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with a unit to assist EMS at a Spruce Drive address.

Saturday, June 4

At 2:37 a.m., the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with an engine to assist EMS at a Red Tail Circle address.

At 5:27 a.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine to assist EMS at a Stonehedge address.

At 2:24 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine to Route 8 northbound near Exit 12 for a small fuel spill.

At 3:19 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded to assist EMS on Route 8 northbound near Exit 12.

At 3:38 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a fire alarm activated at a building at the 900 block of Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire.

Sunday, June 5

At 9:44 a.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3, White Hills Co. No. 5 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to a report of a fire in a laundry room at a Sunrise Circle address. There was no fire upon arrival of fire unites.

At 6:18 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine to a motor vehicle accident on Bridgeport Avenue at Perry Hill Road.

At 6:51 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to a fire alarm activated at the Helen DeVaux Housing Complex, 91 Howe Ave. There was no fire.

At 7:01 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with two engines to a car fire on Route 8 southbound near Exit 12.

Monday, June 6

At 12:24 a.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at the Sinsabaugh Heights Housing Complex, 187 Meadow St. There was no fire.
