Shelton kicks off summer with concert, fireworks

SHELTON — The city is kicking summer off with a bang.

The Shelton fireworks will be Friday, July 1, at Veterans Memorial Park. The event begins with the Shelton Parks and Recreation Summer Concert Series, featuring Darik and the Funbags, at 7 p.m.

The fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.

The walking path at Veterans Memorial Park will be closed at 1 p.m. Beginning at 3 p.m., the municipal lot near the Farmers’ Market will be open only to handicapped people with stickers/permits for parking.
