SHELTON - Would-be Jedi Knights can begin their training right in the city next month.

The Shelton Library System will be offering a Jedi training session on July 24 as part of their Summer Reading Program. This program was made possible by a donation from the Friends of the Shelton Library.

Children ages 5 to 12 can travel to a galaxy far far away and learn to become a Jedi. Training will be held at the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club Pavilion, 100 Canal St.

There are three 20-minute sessions available. Session times are 1-1:20 p.m., 1:30-1:50 p.m. and 2-2:20 p.m. Each participant must register separately for one session. Caregivers must stay with their children for the duration of the program. Masks are needed.

Parking will be available near the farmers market as well as near the Conti building. No bathrooms are available. Registration is open now at https://sheltonlibrarysystem.org/events/
