Police Officer John Staples, on the department’s crime prevention and neighborhood watch Facebook page, stated local law enforcement is “aware of incidents involving a suspicious motor vehicle involved in criminal activity throwing frozen water bottles out of their moving motor vehicle.”

Staples said the vehicle appears to be a newer model silver GMC pickup truck.

According to JD Snyder, Shelton Neighborhood Crime Watch Facebook page administrator, as many as eight separate incidents of individuals driving and tossing the bottles at passing vehicles. The incidents, he writes, have been reported by site users on May 6, seven separate times on May 7, and one Monday.

The Shelton Police Department is seeking information on either the vehicle or the incidents. Any information should be reported to dispatch so officers can keep a log of the incidents.
