DERBY - Bare Slate in Shelton is partnering with The Valley Goes Pink to raise breast cancer awareness and support the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital.

Throughout March, Bare Slate will donate 20 percent of sales made through the Valley Goes Pink page on their website - https://www.thebareslate.com/the-valley-goes-pink.

The Bare Slate offers people the opportunity to create unique décor pieces or wood signs with private art classes and workshops, as well as virtual options.

Instructors assist customers in finding needed supplies and project base and guide them through the necessary steps to create a unique art piece including; sanding and distressing, assembly, painting and staining wood and finishing. The Bare Slate workshop can help individuals at every skill level.

The Valley Goes Pink is a grassroots, community-wide effort to increase awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection, support the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital, and to celebrate the charitable spirit of the region’s businesses and organizations.
