SHELTON - The city sewer pipe lining work will begin work on Old Bridgeport Avenue - weather permitting - on Nov. 14.

Work will run from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.

The pipe lining process will run four to five weeks in duration weather permitting.

When the construction occurs in the section of pipe out front of your home or business, you will be asked to refrain from flushing water or dispensing water through the waste pipe of your establishment for a period of a few hours. City officials say this will help the contractor install the pipe liner more efficiently.

The construction work will run through Dec. 31, weather permitting. The scope of work is from Nells Rock Road at Bridgeport Avenue, along Old Bridgeport Avenue to Cots Street, back onto Bridgeport Avenue, continuing to the intersection of John Street where it will end.

Residences and businesses will be informed when they need to limit wastewater between a specific span of hours.

Traffic may initially be diverted at the Nells Rock Road/Bridgeport Avenue intersection, and there may be a lane closure north of Cots Street on Bridgeport Avenue to John Street.

City officials say the refurbishing of this pipeline is essential to Shelton’s infrastructure. Weather permitting the work should be completed within five weeks’ time.
