State: Air quality could be bad Wednesday
With temperatures expected to reach the upper 80s in Shelton on Wednesday, Aug. 27, the state is warning of potentially unhealthy air.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has issued an air-quality-action day for parts of Fairfield County on Wednesday from 1 to 9 p.m.
An air-quality-action day means that ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.

Nice weather from Thursday to Saturday
Wednesday’s forecast calls for a high of 88 in Shelton, with a slight chance for thunderstorms tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures should moderate in the coming days, with predicted highs in Shelton of 82 on Thursday (sunny), 77 on Friday (sunny) and 79 on Saturday (mostly sunny). It gets hotter again Sunday, with a high of 86 being forecast (chance of showers).
