Shelton Republicans are gathering tonight at Vazzy’s, where congressional candidate Dan Debicella  will get result as well. Debicella, a former state senator from Shelton, is challenging Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Himes.

McGorty is in his third election since late July, due to a special election and then a general election cycle GOP primary following the death of longtime state Rep. Larry Miller in late May.

McGorty is being challenged in today’s election by Green Party nominee Kelly Hanna and petitioning candidate Cheryl Jansen. McGorty said he visited all five polling places in the district — that’s two in Shelton, two in Stratford and one in Trumbull — to greet voters during the course of the day.

Perillo and Anthony are both running unchallenged. “I think I won!” Perillo joked about a half hour before the polls closed when he arrived at Vazzy’s.

“This has been an honor and privilege to serve Shelton, and I’m thrilled to do it again,” Perillo said.
