SHELTON — Do you think you know a thing or two about Old Glory?

Ready to learn what you don’t know about the American flag? Some questions to ponder — Who really designed the first flag? When was our flag first flown? Why did we need an American Flag?

Residents are invited to test their knowledge of the American flag on June 18 at the Echo Hose Ambulance Training Center, 430 Coram Ave., from 11 a.m. to noon.

The Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is hosting this program, titled “Flag Facts and Folklore of Old Glory during the American Revolution.”

Residents attending can also bring any tattered flags for proper disposal. Refreshments will be served. To register, contact Jeaneen Buchanan at 203-926-1215.
