Two vehicles collided. The occupants were able to get out of their cars without emergency assistance and no one appeared to be seriously hurt, according to emergency personnel at the scene.

One individual may require some medical attention, an emergency worker said very soon after the accident.

Police and fire personnel directed traffic at the scene, with cars getting by on Bridgeport Avenue with some delays. By 2:15, both cars involved had been cleared from the accident site and all emergency personnel and vehicles had departed the scene.

The Dec. 27 accident occurred directly in front of the entrances to the Mack-Cali office building (1000 Bridgeport Ave.), which previously housed a People’s United Bank branch, and the VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center (895 Bridgeport Ave.).

A brown sedan and a silver sedan smashed into each other, with front-end damage visible on both vehicles.

The silver car ended up on the east side of the road, hitting a guard rail near the office building, and the brown car was on the west side of the road, near the veterinary center.
