SHELTON — The city’s Trails Committee’s latest work party will focus on the Great Ledge area of the Rec Path.

Volunteers are needed Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. The section of the Rec Path known as The Great Ledge — along the power lines, South of Oak Valley Road Extension, heading toward Wesley Drive — gets overgrown quickly, given its sunny location.

Those interested in volunteering should meet at the end of Oak Valley Road Extension at 8:30 a.m. There’s limited parking there, and more parking is available at the “elbow” of Oak Valley Road, in front of the gate by the power lines.

Dress for the weather and bring water and sturdy work gloves. Committee members will provide clippers, loppers and weed whackers, but people can bring their own tools.

If the weather looks questionable, check the Shelton Trails blog for updates. For more information, contact Val Gosset at valgosset@aol.com or 203-803-5247.
