Water restored at Griffin

Water service was fully restored at Griffin Hospital and the surrounding area Sunday at 11 a.m., following a water main break in Ansonia that caused the hospital to activate its disaster plan at 7:30 a.m. due to a loss of water.

There were no interruptions in patient care during the water outage, said Ken Roberts of the hospital's public affairs office.

The hospital prepared to implement contingency measures during the brief interruption to ensure continuity of care, consistent with planning and drills it regularly conducts as part of its ongoing emergency preparedness activities.

"The hospital appreciates the prompt response of utility crews in restoring service to the community, including the hospital," Roberts said.
