Shelton is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning late this afternoon, with he National Weather Service (NWS) warning the thunderstorms could arrive in Shelton at about 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 28.

As of about 3:35 p.m. today, the NWS said, “Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph ... was located near Danbury, and moving east at 15 mph.”

According to the NWS, severe thunderstorms can produce damaging winds, destructive hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain.
