Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman will chair the annual federal-state relations meeting of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) from March 18 to 20 in Washington, D.C.

Wyman, a Democrat in her second term as lieutenant governor, was elected chairman of the NLGA in July 2014.

The three-day meeting will include panel discussions and presentations on numerous issues, such as transportation infrastructure, education requirements, clean power, the U.S.-Germany relationship, military facilities and healthy lifestyles.

One speaker will be Gina McCarthy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency administrator, who will give a talk on “EPA: Launching a New Era of State Partnerships.”

McCarthy is the former commissioner of environmental protection in Connecticut.

Before being elected lieutenant governor in 2010, Nancy Wyman served as state comptroller and a state representative from eastern Connecticut.
