Connecticut State Police/contributedSHELTON — A Bridgeport man died when the SUV he was driving went off Route 8 Sunday and struck trees, state police said.
Clinton McDevitt, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene of the one-car crash, which happened shortly before 5 p.m.
According to police, McDevitt was driving in the left lane, heading north on Route 8 about a half-mile south of Exit 13 when the 2003 Acura MDX Touring went onto the left shoulder.
The SUV then went into the center median, hit several trees and rolled over, police said.
