Mayor Mark Lauretti indicated during an earlier interview on the Sharon Scanlon case that he would not be surprised if a guilty plea is how the case ended. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t really have a choice,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a terrible thing \u2014 for the city and for the people who work in City Hall, and a terrible thing for her,\u201d he said. Scanlon pleaded no contest to forgery and larceny charges today in state Superior court in Milford Lauretti said it can be hard to be certain whether someone is an honest person or not. \u201cYou know, I like and trust most people,\u201d he said. Lauretti said city officials have had minimal communication with state prosecutors during the legal process.
