Food Trucks in the Valley will take place Thursday, Sept. 18 from 4\u20138 p.m. at the Shelton Riverwalk (Veterans Memorial Park). The event will benefit the Parent Child Resource Center (PCRC), which provides programs and services for children and families in the Lower Naugatuck Valley, including Shelton. At least a dozen food trucks will participate, including those with healthy options. There also will be music, family and children\u2019s activities, specialty drinks and beer. Admission is free, with 10% of proceeds from each vendor going to the PCRC. WPLR-FM will be present from 5\u20137 p.m., with the radio station\u2019s tent, table, music and goodies. The event will be centered in the Rotary Pavilion along the Housatonic River, near Cornell Street in downtown Shelton. Rain date is Sept. 23. Offering passionate care The PCRC offers state-of-the-art and passionate care to clients through mental health services for children and families. Each year the organization serves more than 1,200 children, many who suffer from serious behavioral and emotional problems, including trauma, abuse and neglect. Programs include the Child Guidance Clinic, Triple P Parenting, Therapeutic Mentoring, Intensive Outpatient, and Prevention through Early Intervention. \u201cSaving lives by passionately caring for children, families and community,\u201d is the center\u2019s motto.
