SHELTON \u2014 Two people have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries, police said. Bridgeport resident Adis Kacar, 36, has been charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of larceny and three counts of criminal mischief and conspiracy, according Shelton Police\u2019s Detective Richard Bango. East Haven resident Daniel Girdzis, also 36, faces charges of two counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, two counts of conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and two counts of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, Bango said. The pair are accused of a Dec. 8, 2020 burglary at the Cumberland Farms on River Road, and burglaries Dunkin\u2019 Donuts on Bridgeport Avenue and a liquor store on River Road on Feb. 1, according to Bango. \u201cIn all the burglaries forced entry was made by prying the front door and cash and cigarettes were stolen,\u201d Bango said. \u201cSimilar burglaries were committed in several area towns in the same time frame. An investigation by the Shelton Detective Bureau along with several Fairfield and New Haven county police departments developed Kacar and Girdzis as suspects.\u201d Bonds for Kacar and Girdizs were set at $50,000, according to Bango. Kacar and Girdizs were arraigned in Derby Superior Court this week, Bango wrote.
