SHELTON \u2014 An aspiring local actor will be taking center stage at the Harwinton Fairgrounds for the next several weeks. Killian Meehan will play the role of Robin Hood at Robin Hood\u2019s Medieval Faire, which will be at the Harwinton Fairgrounds every Saturday and Sunday from May 21 to July 3. Performances will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. This recreation of a Medieval spring festival is a craft marketplace and entertainment extravaganza appealing to a wide range of guests by mixing outdoor theater and circus-style entertainment with more than 70 local artisans -- one of the largest themed craft shows in New England. Meehan said he is \u201cthrilled to be Robin Hood this year,\u201d doing the performances that he loves most - interacting with the audience, improv, stage combat and traditional theater. When not performing, Meehan studies cybersecurity at the University of New Haven, streams video games on Twitch as Fennarius, and, while at home in Shelton, feeds snacks to his dog Valkyrie and his cat Morrigan. Every day of Robin Hood\u2019s Medieval Faire brings something new to see - jousting knights, armored combat melees, and circus-style entertainment such as sword swallowers and fire breathers. Six performance stages dot the medieval village giving you numerous shows to see as you wander the marketplace with your turkey leg and craft brew. Founded in 2009, Robin Hood\u2019s Medieval Faire has toured various locations in Connecticut over its 12 years, sharing its creative spin on history with thousands of guests. Meehan\u2019s previous work includes Potters Wheel (Theater for the New City\/off-off Broadway) where he originated the role of Jacob; Cromwell in Henry VIII (Valley Shakespeare\/Regional); Lancelot in Merchant of Venice (Valley Shakespeare\/Regional); Romeo in R&J: Choose your own ending (Valley Shakespeare\/Regional); Dreyfus in Pink Panther (Phoenix Stage\/Community); Puck in Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream (CCTC\/Community); and Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew (Theatre West\/Community).
