CT Girl Scouts to honor Sikorsky Aircraft IT executive

The chief information officer for Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. will be honored by Girl Scouts of Connecticut at the 2015 Woman of Merit dinner on Thursday, June 11 from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Italian Center of Stamford.

Award recipients will be Judith Bankowski, vice president and chief information officer for Sikorsky, and journalist Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC-TV’s Morning Joe program.

In her position, Bankowski oversees information technology operations at the helicopter manufacturer with facilities in Stratford and Shelton.

She served on the Bridgeport Board of Education and is active with Community Health Charities of New England, Sikorsky Women’s Forum, Inroads program, and UTC’s Information Technology Women’s Forum.

Former TV reporter and author

Brzezinski is a former CBS-TV news reporter and the author of three best-selling books, including one that examines the role of women in the workplace. She has worked to empower women to express their worth in business and in life.
