The establishment at 127 Center St. is owned by business partners John Barounis and Derrick Lee, who have been restaurateurs for decades.
They began in the business in New York City, considered a competitive and demanding market. In more recent years, they have operated locations in Connecticut.
“We are happy to be a part of the growth and development taking place in this unique community,” the owners said in a statement.
“We are dedicated to great service and meeting our customer's needs," they said. "Combined with our setting, menu and libations, we are sure to please our customers. We look forward to meeting new friends.”
Lunch, dinner and drinks
Center Street Social is open for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, evening cocktails, a Happy Hour, late-night menu and live music.
It offers “ a range of craft bar foods,” according to publicity material, with a few of its specialties being chicken ’n waffles, sliders, and handmade potato chips.
The establishment has full-size indoor and outdoor bars, with nine beers on tap. It is open seven days a week.
Center Street Social occupies the space that previously was the home of Caliente, another restaurant and drinking establishment. The new owners have renovated the inside, installing antique wood from a West Virginia barn to create a unique look.
