Chamber of Commerce gathers at Highland Golf Club

Chatting during a recent Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce get-together at Shelton’s Highland Golf Club are, from left, Laura Gorman, chamber membership director; Shelton resident Ned Rydzy, Highland Golf Club president; and Bill Whalen, a past president of the club.

The “Chamber on the Road” event was a chance for many newer Chamber of Commerce members to learn more about the business organization and its services, and to network with other local business people.

“There’s power in numbers when businesses come together,” chamber President Bill Purcell said during a presentation.

The gathering also was an opportunity to visit Highland Golf Course, established in 1900 and known for its hilly terrain and rustic clubhouse. Accessed on Wooster Street, the course is described in promotional material as “a jewel amidst the urban setting of downtown Shelton.”
