Pet sitters expand services, offer give-aways

Paws & Kisses Pet Sitting Service, LLC marks its fifth anniversary with service expansion.

“We are happy to announce that, beginning in May, Paws & Kisses staff of certified dog trainers will offer in-home canine training and specialty group classes to local residents,” said Mandy Oram, business owner. “So many of our clients have asked us for advice and training assistance over the years that we feel the time has come to expand into this needed service area.”

Give-aways at business expo

They will also have a free biscuit give-away by offering free bags of all-natural biscuits to local residents at the Valley Business Expo & Health Fair, sponsored by the Valley Chamber of Commerce, on Wednesday, April 24, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at 4 Research Drive, fifth floor.

The 25th person to collect a biscuit bag will receive a pet care gift basket valued at more than $50. Staff will also be on hand to provide information about the pet sitting and training services offered by Paws & Kisses.

Services offered by Paws & Kisses include pet sitting for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles and small animals, dog walking and exercising, pet taxi services, holiday or vacation care, and in-home training and specialty group classes, including Canine Lifestyle and Canine Social Events.

Paws & Kisses is licensed and is fully bonded, certified and insured for all services offered. All Paws & Kisses staff are knowledgeable, trained professionals. Paws & Kisses is also a member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Inc.

New classes

Paws & Kisses will be offering several classes in the coming months. The Canine Lifestyle class is designed to provide the latest information about holistic and healthy options for canine health and nutrition, as well as hands-on demonstrations of grooming and even healthy cooking for your pet.

The Trainers on the Trails workshop will feature opportunities for dogs and their humans to socialize during walks on several area trails. Trainers will be available to provide advice and demonstrate techniques to help with leash walking. Details of these classes and information about its services will be available at the Valley Business Expo & Health Fair. Attendees who sign up for a class at this event will receive a 10% discount on the class fee.

Paws & Kisses is also active in the community, collecting and providing pet care supplies to local animal shelters and rescue groups. In fact, for each of the past four years, Paws & Kisses has hosted the annual Southern CT Presents 4 Pets Charity Collection campaign, collecting and donating over $ 25,000 of pet care items to more than a dozen local animal shelters and rescue groups during that time. They will be hosting the Southern CT Presents 4 Pets campaign again in 2013.
