Postal Service seeks Shelton business to operate ‘a post office in your store’

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is looking for a location for a contract postal facility in Shelton.

“The U.S. Postal Service is seeking to form a partnership with a retailer that is interested in providing postal products and services to the community in the Bridgeport Avenue area of Shelton,” according to USPS publicity material.

“This partnership will help increase your market share, help increase your traffic, and provide added value for your customers,” the USPS publicity material said.

“You provide the space, purchase your own stamps and meter postage, and operate the postal store with your employees,” it continued. “You sell postal products/services at face value. The more postal products and services you sell, the more you earn through our percentage-based compensation plan.”

Anyone interested in pursuing such an arrangement should contact Michael Falcha, USPS retail specialist, at 860-524-6263. Falcha is based at 141 Weston St., Hartford, CT 06101. Inquiries from interested parties will be taken for 30 days, from May 7 to June 8.
