Shelton business celebrates one-year anniversary with a party
A downtown Shelton business that offers a venue for people to have themed parties is celebrating its one-year anniversary.
Located at 549 Howe Ave., Here’s The Party! is a one-stop place to have a themed party or special occasion, such as a shower. “You select a theme and they provide invitations to goody bags, set up to clean up, and everything in between,” according to publicity material.
The business can organize parties for children and adults, and the rooms also are available for rent for those wanting to plan their own event.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the anniversary will take place Wednesday, May 7 at 4 p.m. at the store. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Here’s The Party! owner Kim MacDougall will be joined by family, friends, Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce President Bill Purcell and local public officials.
“I started this business because I love to throw parties,” MacDougall said. “I thought it would be a great idea to give moms and dads the chance to be at their child’s party and not have to do anything except take pictures. Let us do all the work for you.”
Princess to sports themes
The store’s most popular party is a princess party with gowns for the girls to dress up in and “all the details to make them feel like royalty,” according to MacDougall.
Some popular party themes for boys are construction or sports. Other theme offerings include luau, carnival, glamour girl and pirate. “If there’s a theme out there, they can do it for you here,” according to publicity material.
MacDougall said she meets with every client “to make sure their event is special.” The store has flexible hours to accommodate the need of party-throwers.
